The Captive-Bred Platinum Storm Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is a selectively bred color variant of the Ocellaris Clownfish. It displays a striking white body with irregular storm-like patterns of dark pigmentation, making each specimen unique.

Distribution and Habitat

The Ocellaris Clownfish is found in the Eastern Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean. It lives in small groups on outer reef slopes or in sheltered lagoons.

Physical Description

The Platinum Storm Clownfish grows up to 11 cm (4.3 in) long. It has a predominantly white body with dark patches and the typical three vertical white stripe pattern.

Diet and Feeding

The Ocellaris Clownfish feeds on plankton and algae. In captivity it accepts a varied diet including flakes, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and pellets.

Behavior and Reproduction

The Ocellaris Clownfish is a protandrous hermaphrodite. It forms a symbiotic relationship with sea anemones. This species is semi-aggressive and territorial.

Aquarium Care

It requires a tank of at least 20 gallons with abundant live rock. It is considered reef-safe.
